Is It Normal For Air To Go Out Of Ear When Blown Inside?

if I blow into my mouth with my lips closed I will sometimes (rarely but it s mildly painful and annoying) feel air move out under the back corner of my jaw by my ear (left side always) and can even hear as it separate tissue and fills some unknown space under my jaw/chin. Is this normal/safe? Thank you. No one I ve ever asked has had any idea what I am talking about.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It isn't normal maybe you have had chronic infections of the middle ear when you were a child or some time ago. I suspect for perforation of tympanic membrane. Take an appointment with ENT.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
