Is It Normal For Muscular Pain To Move Around?

I have had pain in the left side of my chest for the last week or so. I went to the doctors on Tues and he gave me Ibuprofen and told me to take 1 3 times a day for a couple of weeks as he felt some inflamation and said it was muscular. Is it normal for muscular pain to move around? I sometimes have pain down my left side, left arm and around my left shoulder at present I actually have pain in my back inbetween my shoulder blades. Is this normal?
