Is It Normal For Swollen Blue Veins In Palms Of Hands, Wrists ?

Hi, I started menstration last night and all day today the veins in my palms of my hands and wrists have been hurting very bad. They are blue and slightly swollen. My mom wants me to go to the doctor. Is this normal? should I go to the doctor? Is the anything I can take for the pain?
