Is It Normal If The Laceration Starts Having A Tan Color Tissue/film ?

Hello! While using a kitchen mandolin I happened to cut off the tip of my pinky finger. I went to the ER who cleaned my pinky and gave me antibiotics. The ER MD wanted me to leave my injured pinky exposed to be able to watch it for infections (I don’t agree with this idea but I am one to do what MD s say). Now, looking at the laceration it is starting to have a tan color tissue/film. I don’t think it is infected since it is not sore or getting worse or becoming redder but I wanted to know if this tissue/film is normal? Thanks

Hi, Welcome to the Health care magic forum.
As you describe, it appears that you have a small cut at the tip of the pinky finger.
some prefers to leave it exposed and prescribe some ointment to aid healing. Along with the oral drugs for healing.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, ornidazole, diclofenac and serratiopeptidase.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
