Is It Normal To Continue Using My Denture Plate After Having A Canine Tooth Removed And Not Sutured?

While having my upper teeth removed for a dental plate, my canine removed, but not sutured. Now the entire inside of the socket is visible from the gum line to the jaw bone. I went back to the dentist and he said it’s fine and to continue to put my denture plate in.

Hi,

It's completely normal to do that. That is what we call immediate prosthesis. Healing of the socket will take place in 2-3 days. However, if your denture plate is hurting you at any point you can get it trimmed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
