Is It Normal To Experience Internal Penile And Scrotal Pain After An Appendectomy And Catheter Use?
I had a appendectomy 2 weeks ago and my penis hurts on the inside. it feels weird but painful I had a catheter put in and it kind of feels like something in my tract is off it radiates to my scrotum as well if I try and sit down hard it hurts or if I bend over and it stretches it hurts, Can anyone help me out with what s wrong?
Some mild discomfort after catheter removal is fairly common. A catheter can cause irritation or mild trauma to the urethra. However, two weeks later, persistent internal penile pain and pain radiating into the scrotum is very concerning. The symptoms can be due to penile irritation or epididymitis. You are advised to get clinically examined by a Urologist to examine you & evaluate to detect or rule out UTI or prostatitis.
In the meantime, you are advised to drink plenty of fluids and void straining or vigorous activity. Do not wear uncomfortable under- wear. Wear supportive underwear to reduce scrotal discomfort.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
