Is It Normal To Feel A Hard Lump When The Neck And Adam Apple Is Pressed?

Just had ankle surgery a week ago and am freaking out about all symptoms I notice. While taking my pulse on my neck, I noticed when I pressed in it felt strange like something hard moved or bubbled. Also if I move my Adams apple around I feel the same sensation, is this normal? I am a 25 year old male, overweight with high cholesterol.
