Is It Normal To Get A Swollen Tonsil?

my daughter is 27 and has had recurring sore throats and recently had quincy she has been told her right tonsil is slightly swollen and they want to perform a tonsilectomy and take a biopsy is this usual he said it quite rare in people of her age but i am worried

For the quinsy , they must have done drainage and tonsils would be removed later on or at times at the same sitting. Quinsy us seen in many young adults esp abroad. Tonsillectomy is required after an attack.
