Is It Normal To Get On And Off Chest Pain While Having Mild Anxiety?
Hi, I am 42 year old female, 5'7, and 210 lbs. I had a panic attack a month ago. Went to the ER and my EKG as well as my chest xrays were good. ER docotr said I have mild anxiety. Been getting chest pains whenever i have to use the bathroom and when i am very hungry.
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. You are a healthy female with history of panic attack about one month ago. Your all tests for heart like EKG and chest X-rays came normal so heart illness can be ruled out easily. Chronic non-remitting chest pain can occur in anxiety and proper treatment of anxiety will reduce these symptoms.
In anxiety medicines like SSRIs as Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, Sertraline etc are used. These medicines are safe drugs and help to improve the symptoms of anxiety when used on regular basis. Some medicines like Propranolol or low dose benzodiazepines etc help to control symptoms of anxiety. Please consult a psychiatrist for expert opinion and prescription of these drugs.
Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
