Is It Normal To Have A Burning Sensation After Donating Blood?

I donated blood on Monday. The Phlebotomist had to push the needle in farther because it was above my vein. When this happened I felt a burning/hot sensation. I thought it would go away, but when I pick up or stretch that arm I feel a weird hot sensation that spreads where I donated blood. Is this normal?

Hi burning sensation immediately after blood donation is normal but it will go away within one to two hours.if it is persistent it can be irritation of vein if the needle is pushed deeper.
It can be cured by short course of antibiotic .anti inflammatory agent twice daily and application of thrombophobe ointment twice daily
