Is It Normal To Have Bone Marrow Edema After A Spinal Fusion?

Hi i am a 28 year old male who was injured in the army..

I have had a spinal fusion and had an mri done on 12/4/08.

can anyone tell me if this is bad or not here are my changes

There is a moderate amount of bone marrow edema like signal and enhancement involving the inferior endplate of l4 and suprior endplate at l5



t11-12 there is a tiny right paracentral disc protrusion causing mild effacemnt of the thecal sac antiroly but not causing significant spinal canal stenosis. no forminal narrowing seen

l3-4 there is a small diffuse disc osteophyte complex causing mild bilateral formainal narrowing but not causing significant spinal canal stenosis. there is mild facet arthropathy.

l4-5 there is encancing epidural scar in the paracentral regions bilaterally but no recurrent disc herniation, spinal stenosis or formainal narrowing seen. no paraspinal fluid collections are identifee

l5-s1 mild facet arthropathy

incidental lipoma of the filum terminale
