Is It Normal To Have Brown Spotting After Switching Birth Control Brand?
Hi. I recently switched from one birth control brand (Sprintec I took for a year), to a lower dosage brand (Aviane). I ve been on Aviane for two months. During both months, I experienced light brown spotting. Once for a few days in the middle of my packs, and once during my period week for several days. I should note that I never was able to get a period on my own- I had to have it medically induced about a year ago. I am worried if this is normal... Or a sign of pregnancy.
The symptoms seem to be related to a side effect of the birth control pills. Based on the fact that you used the birth control pills the chances of a pregnancy are very low. If you don't get your periods you should do a urine pregnancy test to exclude this possibility.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
