Is It Normal To Have Feet Spasms And High Temperature While Having Pneumonia?

My son-in-law was diagnosed with pneumonia. However, he has a mass on one of his lungs as well. A biopsy was run but they only tested for tumors and cancer, which was negative. A culture was run resulting in the chance of his antiobiotic. His temperature periodically spikes, without any advance notice. He can no longer feed himself, as both of his hands appear to now have nerve problems. He has experienced quite a few leg spasms recently as well. He has been in the hospital for seven days as of today, and they have called in infectious disease doctor. Any suggestions?

Hello

As you explain his condition it is a very complicated situation and serious also. It's hard for me to say exactly what is the cause. Pneumonia when it is in both lungs might be serious and the patient is hospitalised and not at home. However it is his treating doctor who should explain his situation to you.
