Hi doc, can I ask, my son had his penta vaccine last Aug 9. He is only 1month and 20 days now. Until now he has a fever. Is it normal? Yesterday , he had no fever whole day but at night his temperature was 37.9. And we think he has a cclogged nose. By the way he was confined last july 11 up to July 21 because of sepsis.after vaccine is it every 4 hrs to take paracetamol?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your son seem to be related to side effects of the vaccine. These side effects are normal and will go away in a few days.

I suggest using Paracetamol every four hours for the fever.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
