Is It Normal To Have Green Stools And Constipation After Starting Formula For Infant?

I just started supplementing with formula. 2oz breastmilk 2oz formula. My 4mo old has been pooping a forest green color and is a pasty texture. She also will now go 2-3 days without pooping. She s not fussy nor does she cry excessively. Is this still normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
It is not uncommon to see a change in the color of the stools while beginning to supplement formula feeds. As long as there is no excessive crying or decreased activity, I suggest you do not worry too much about it. The bowel movements should become normal in a couple of days once the gut lumen gets accustomed to the new diet.
