Is It Normal To Have Indentation In Calf Having Lateral Meniscus Tear?

Recently went to the dr. who said I had a lateral meniscus tear - I am not so sure as the pain in more in my calf area. Today I noticed an indentation of my calf that I have never seen before. Is this normal? Lately I have been running and playing a lot of golf.
