Is It Normal To Have Light Bleeding When Going Through A Miscarriage?
Hi, can I answer your health question? Please type your question here... Hi Dr. Andrew, This is my first miscarriage, I would like to ask if my bleeding is normal at this stage, so far I been counting for days that I had heavy bleeding from the day I miscarriage my baby until now which is 18 days from today my period has not stop fully and I am having light spotting . Can you please advised me how many days the bleeding or spotting should be stop after miscarriage?
The bleeding after miscarriage usually lasts for about a week. In some women it may last for two weeks. Sometimes during miscarriage pregnancy tissue is not completely expelled. If the pregnancy is not completely expelled from uterus and some bits of pregnancy tissue are remaining in the uterus, then it can cause bleeding for longer time. Since the bleeding has reduced and you now have only spotting, in all probability it will stop in 3-4 days time. But it is important that you consult your Gynecologist and get an ultrasound done to make sure that the miscarriage process is complete. I hope I have answered to your satisfaction.
