Is It Normal To Have Low Heart Rate?

Hello. I have been taking 25mg of Metoprolol 2 times per day for about 2 weeks now. My cardiologist ordered another 24 holter monitor for me 4 days ago while on the medication as I was still having bothersome PAC's. The PAC's went down dramatically since first holter. My concern is that my heart rate gets very low. High 40's during the day and 40 while I was asleep. The doctor says this is o.k., but it still concerns me.

Hi ,welcome to HCM,
Low heart rates below 60bpm is termed as bradycardia.any bradycardia unassociated with symptoms does not require any treatment.Lowering the dose and frequency of metoprolol can help to increase your heart rates towards the baseline.Intracardiac pacing can help to increase the heart rate. Have a 2D screening echo to rule out structural heart lesions.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
thank you
