Is It Normal To Have Mouth Sores While Suffering From Tonsillitis?

Hello, last Friday (9/2) I started experiencing sneezing and a running nose. It progressed to a sore throat and chills the next Monday. I also started developing sores on my tongue, roof of mouth and inside and outside of my lip. Also some red and swollen tonsils with puss pockets. The chills and sore throat stopped a few days ago, but I still have the mouth sores. I still have my wisdom teeth in too, and the swelling around that area is causing pain. I went to a quick care provider and they said tonsillitis and put me on antibiotics. My question is what are the mouth sores? The one on the inside of my lip is about half the size of a dime and white, the sore on my roof is just very red. Also, the wisdom teeth have many sores around them, so could this be the cause for the tonsillitis?

Hello thanx for consulting at hcm..since you had symptoms of chills, fever, pus filled tonsillitis, and also associated with wisdom tooth pain..it might have triggered viral infection such as herpes infection..since you gave a history of multiple painful ulcers on both surfaces of lips such as inside and outside...,on palate ..if viral etiology then you will need antiviral.. If bacterial etiology you need topical antibiotics and antiseptics.. You can take topical anesthetic to reduce the pain.. You also need extraction of wisdom tooth..Kindly consult for a oral physician asap for check up and treatment.. Hope it helps.take care
