General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,

Thanks for posting your query,

It is not usual for the ear to bleed after an ear examination unless if there was trauma or an existing ear condition that has been provoked by introduction of the examination instrument.
You should get the medication indicated by your doctor and if within a few hours to days, your husband still has ear bleeding and pain then it is best you get back to him/her soonest for reevaluation.

Best wishes.
