Is It Normal To Have Period For A Month?

Hi I am Melody. I have been havin my period for a month with nonstop bleeding. I am 15. 89 pounds and a height of 5'1.5" I always have weird irregular periods that would keep going on and on. I have been having periods for 2 years now. I don't know if this is normal or not?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is abnormal to have menstrual bleeding continuously for a month. You must consult a gynecologist immediately and get investigated in detail. An ultrasound scan of your pelvis may be needed to know if you have any structural abnormalities. Also you must get your blood tested for hemoglobin level and take good nutrition and iron and folic acid supplements if you have anemia and weakness.
