Is It Normal To Have Persistent Severe Pain And Limited Knee Movement 5 Months After Bone Infarct Post Injury Despite An Intact Meniscus?

I am 43 years old and had a crushing injury over 5 months ago. A car reversed into me from behind, against my own car. My left leg/knee took the impact. I have been off work the whole time. my most recent MRI states - abnormal oedematous thickening in the distal insertional part of the ACL. -mild oedematous irregularity in the posterolateral fibrous of ACL. -abnormal high signal intensity within the popliteal tendon -osteochondral injury -hoffas fat pad oedema -suspicion for oblique tear in the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus -infrapatellar subcutaneous oedema -bone marrow oedema in proximal fibular and lateral femoral condyle and lateral tibial plateau. Following this, i received a telephone call from the consultant, telling me the diagnosis is bone infarct (osteonecrosis). surely it shouldnt take this long to recover, as i still can not fully straighten my knee. The pain i have still tells me it is the meniscus, but the consultants tell me the meniscus is in tact. Please advise.
