Is It Normal To Have Phlemy Throat After Neck Fusion Surgery?

Dr. Carpenter performed my neck fusion surgery in 2003-2004 and it was absolutely awesome!!! For the past several months though I have had to clear my throat a lot like it is is phlemy. I often have to cough to clear it. Is this common after awhile of having the surgery? Does the plate in my neck need replacing?

Hi, it is common to have phlegm throat after surgery. But need to replace the plate or not has to be examined by doctor.
There are chances of having infection of the reconstructed larynx. All this has to be checked out. So please consult doctor.
