Is It Normal To Have Sore Tender Breasts, Hard Nipples And Irregular Periods?

My breasts have been pretty sore lately, mostly just to touch, and my nipples seem bigger and harder, and almost dry. They're are no specific tender spots or anything, it's just them and an overall soreness. My periods have always been extremely irregular, sometimes stopping for months, so I don't think it's associated with that, unless maybe they're reacting to when I should get a cycle regardless of whether it actually comes or not? I've never noticed a pattern. The soreness happens often, but not the other symptoms. Why could they be getting hard, big, and 'dry'?
