Is It Normal To Have Ulcers On My Penis After Having A Tetanus Shot?

I recently had the last of the hep b series, a tetnus shot. It's been 15 days and I have developed ulcers on my penis. I did have sex with my monogamous girlfriend whom I live with. Yesterday at work I felt flu like so I talked a nurse into a shot of decredon and I feel better but am worried about my penis

Welcome to health care magic. I am Dr Alok Sinha, MD Psychiatry from India. I have read your question carefull and could understand that you developed ulcer on penis and fever after 15 days of vaccination and worried about it. I can understand your concern. I will try my best to answer your query.

Tetanus vaccine or Hepatitis B vaccine are not known to cause ulcer elsewhere in body. Since you have developed it after 15 days it should not be related with vaccination. Ulcer on penis may be due to some localized or systemic infection. Infection may occur due to supressed immunity. And in this case taking steroid injection (Decadron) for fever may further supress the immunity and flare up the infection. Further I want to say that all penile ulcers are not due to STD.

I suggest you to visit a venerealogist who may examine you in detail and prescribe you some medicines for cure.

This wouldn't be related to the vaccinations
You need to have this examined by a doctor--ulcers could be from a staph infection or possibly an STD like syphilis
