Is It Normal To Have Uncontrollable Muscle Spasms When Smoking Cannabis?

hey so sometimes when I smoke cannabis I freak out. And when I smoke an incredible amount + diminished tolerance, then my heart beat beats really fast, I feel sick, dizzy, and feel like something is in my throat, also sometimes (rarely though) i have uncontrollable muscle spasms and cold feeling in my hand. . Am I just freaking out bad?

Hi,

No, you are not freaking out. What is happening to you is due to cannabis only. Cannabis is well known to cause anxiety and panic attacks, the symptoms of which are rapid heart beat, restlessness, anxiety, dizziness, choking, sensation, cold clammy sensation, numbness, tingling, breathlessness, sweating, fear of impending doom, muscle tension, abdominal discomfort, tremors etc. Some people develop anxiety disorders after using cannabis, which persist even after people quit cannabis. The risk of developing psychosis is also higher in people who use cannabis. It will be good for you if you can quit or at least cut down as much as possible.

Best wishes.
