Is It Normal To Have White, Clear Penile Discharge For 5 Days?
Hi, 21 yo Male straight sexual orientation. For the last 5 days I’ve had tiny amounts of white/clear discharge at the tip of my penis. Coming and only staying around the urethra I do have unprotected sex, but My parter has no STDs and no STIs when I had mentioned it she said nothing was wrong with her. I’ve never had an STD myself is this normal? Or should I see a doctor??? Thank you for your help.
No, it’s not normal to have ongoing white penile discharge for 5 days. Many women with STIs can be asymptomatic. Pre-ejaculate fluid usually occurs with arousal and does not linger for days at the urethral tip. Avoid unprotected sex. If this is an infection, you could pass it. Chlamydia and gonorrhea often present with penile discharge.
Trichomoniasis also causes discharge. Get clinically examined by a urologist. Get STD tests done. Your partner is also advised to get STD tests done to detect STIs. If diagnosed with an STI, both you and your partner will be treated with antibiotics, even if she feels fine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
