Is It Normal To Not Have Periods Even After Stopping Birth Control?

i have been on birth control since august 2011 taking yaz. i only had 1 cycle since i been taking birth control. Its lasting only about 2 days. I had a stomach virus/infection in in june of this year. My doctor at first thought my stomach pain was use from my birth control. So he told me to stop taking them. Haven't been on birth control since june and still no period. Took a pregnancy test the result was negative. So is it normal to still not have a period??
