Radiologist Dr. Tushar Somwanshi 's  Response
Hello dear,
sedation is needed during MRI to reduce movement artefacts during the study.
Duration of sleeping after sedation depends on the dose of the sedative and is normal. However, if the blood pressure decreases rapidly then one may have to rush to a physician. Otherwise it is normal to sleep for quite a while.
