Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my neighbor has hydrocephalus due a brain tumor 4 years ago. she has recently (5 days ago) had a spinal tap to draw excess CSF. she has follow up appointment next week to discuss future treatment, possible shunt. the spinal tap has helped immensely, she is feeling great and, as I am a massage therapist, she has asked if I can give her a massage. and I am having trouble finding out if there are contraindications to her having a massage, either a Swedish massage or a hot stone massage. what can you tell me please?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern and looking to the history given here I could say that the patient have a history of hydrocephalus and gone through the spinal tapping so in my opinion it is not at all advisable to give any kind of massage, hope this information helps you take care and have a nice day.
