Is It Ok To Smoke After Stent Procedure?

I recently had a stent procedure done on my RCA and will have another stent inserted next week in my LAD. I control my diet, exercise regularly and am very active (both work and sports). My only bad habit was that I was a social smoker (2-3 cigarettes/week).....After the stent procedure can I still have 1 or 2 puffs a week...Thanks

Hi welcome to HCM.
Smoking is absolutely contraindicated in presence of recent cardiac stenting procedures and cardiac disease.Smoking worsens the heart issues by causing narrowing of the blood vessels and reducing the coronary blood flow.It also seriously impairs the pulmonary mechanics thereby putting extra load on the heart.2 dimensional echo will help to assess the heart function.Even a puff of smoke can worsen your heart function.I strongly recommend you to give up smoking.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you.
