Is It Okay To Take Ibuprofen For Ear Pain Due To Infected Ears?

I'm 75, female, with both ears infected from an 24 hr achy flu. Went to Urgent Care . Dr prescribed. 250 mg of Azithromyin. Having taken 2 tablets 4 hrs ago I do not feel any relief. I am still NOT hearing out of both ears and they continue to "hiss". I will not take another tablet until 1pm tomorrow. I feel I should have had some relief by now. I'm still getting jabs of pain in my ears. Would it be alright to take some ibuprofen?

Hi,
Only taking antibiotic in any infection will not give symptomatic relief from pain.
Initially you have to take ibuprofen type tablet to get temporary symptomatic relief.
Once infection controlled with antibiotic you may not require ibuprofen.
Ok and take care.
