Is It Pneumonia Or Pleurisy If I Have Chest Pain, Yellow Mucus, Muscle Pain And Weakness?
Hello, I have just gotten over a cold that I ve had for well over two months. the duration coughing up yellow mucus. So much at times I would throw up. I know am still coughing up mucus, but still have muscle pain & weakness; & now in addition, I have chest pain. It started last night. Hurts when I take a deep breath, cough, or move certain ways, especially when bending forward. Pneumonia or pleurisy?
Hi, As your symptoms persist for more than two months so, it is possible that at the onset it was a case of pneumonia which now progress to pleurisy. Pneumonia because you have started with cold and cough of yellow mucus but now you are complaining of chest pain on coughing, deep breathing and also on movement. So you should consult a physician for physical examination and further evaluation. Some tests should be done like Chest x ray PA view, Culture & sensitivity of bronchial swab, Lung function test, CT scan & Ultrasound of chest. As pneumonia is caused by bacteria, virus, fungus, parasites, the treatment will be prescribed accordingly. Thank you for consulting HCM.
