Is It Possible For Fetal Pole To Develop After 5 Weeks?

I had a transvaginal ultrasound and was told that a gestational sac a nd yolk sac was present but no fetal pole. My periods since November 2013 have ranged from 29 to 28 days with some as short as 22 or 25 days with the last period starting on Feb 20, 2014 which was at 28 days 4 days late than January period. I was told that from the last menstrual period I should be 7 weeks but was measuring 5 weeks 2 days with no fetal pole. I was told to cone back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and to prepare for the pregnancy not to stick. Is it possible that I ovulated late? Is it possible for a fetal pole to develop at this point?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Either we can visualize the fetal pole making the pregnancy viable in this duration or we can more accurately predict whether the pregnancy is non-viable at that point. Let us hope all goes well.

Wishing you luck.
