Is It Possible For Genital Warts To Relapse After Some Years?
Hello, I believe I may have contracted genital warts. I have been having sex only with my husband for 4 years. Before that I did have unprotected sex a few times. I have never had symptoms before now. Is it possible I caught it and had it all this time? Or is it more likely that my husband caught it and passed it on to me within the last 6 months?

Hi, The genital wart usually gets completely cleared within 2 years of infection. But there is a chance that few infected cells remain latent ,do not exibit any symptoms & recur after a few months/years gap.Though symptomless in latent phase, still they can pass the infection to sex partner. So recurrance of genital warts may be reactivation of latent old disease cells of a fresh infection by sexual contact. Thanks.
