Is It Possible To Concieve After Tubal Ligation?

I've gotten my tubes tied 12 yrs. ago after my last son was born, I missed my cycle for this month on the 16th. I've been have multiple symptoms of being pregnant like fatigue cramps with no sign of a cycle lower back pain nausea dizziness & swollen breast no pain though. I've taken 4 HPT in which 2 came back positive & 2 came back negative. So I went to the ER this morning & was told that the test was negative. Is it a possibility that I am pregnant & it's just not registering or could something else be wrong.

Tubal ligation is permanent method of birth control which is highly effective. Even though it is highly effective, its not 100%. A certain study showed that after 5 years 13 out of 1000 women who had a tubal ligation became pregnant. So to answer your query, pregnancy is possible after tubal ligation.

The confusing thing in your case is the fact that some results came back positive. However, the one that was done in the hospital which did came back negative is to be considered more.

Stress can delay menses and it is possible to have alterations in menstrual cycle sometimes without necessary an underlying problem. It is only when such alterations persist that it become problematic.

On the other hand, to be really re-assured, you could go for an endo-vaginal ultrasound.
