Is It Possible To Have Preterm Labor Due To Small Uterus?

My daughter was just admitted with what has been diagnosed as preterm labor. She is about 18 and 1/2 weeks pregnant. The OB on call did an untrasound and says she has a short uterus which is causing the preterm labor. She carried her first pregancy to term 11 years ago. Does this make sense to you?

hypoplastic uterus may be associated with preterm labour...but you had history of term pregnancy in such case there is not possibility of hypoplastic uterus in your case...

there are many causes that leads to preterm labour..proper examination and investigation can identify its cause..
treatment of it is must..
