Is It Possible To Have Vasectomy While Having Undescended Testicle?
I have one undecended testicle, had it since birth, I am now 28. Fathered two children and one stepchild. Me and my wife have been in discussions for the last year and concluded that I will try my GP for a vasectomy due to problems in all 3 labours which got worse, feel we have a full family etc. However before I go to my GP I have been researching online with no luck about having a vasectomy with a undecended testicle. Can you advise if it is at all possible and the best way to approach my GP? Secondly, I have a cyst in between my scrotum and my anus which in summer becomes inflamed and irritating due to sweating etc. I have asked my Dr about it being removed and he just said No, no one will remove a cyst . Can you advise on this matter also please? Thank you in advance. Ian
The undescended testicle at the age of 28 years is a non-functioning testicle. There is no role of performing vasectomy over the side of the testicle which is not functioning, rather it requires the surgery of orchidectomy to avail the future chances of cancer occurrence. However, if you can provide me details of report of color Doppler of the testicles and soft tissueultrasound of the pelvis , better guidelines can be figured out.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
