Hi, Fertyl tablet contains Clomiphene Citrate, which is used for ovulation induction. Sometimes a single tablet per day is prescribed and sometimes the dose can be doubled depending on the doctor s decision according to the need. Sometimes a single tablet is sufficient, but some women because of decrease sensitivity to ovulation induction drugs or inadequate growth in the previous cycle with a single tablet doctors prefer to double the dose. There may not be any major problem with doubling the dose usually. But the ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome, which is a rare complication with ovulation induction, should be kept in mind. Follicular study with alternate day ultrasound should be done from the 11th day of the cycle to monitor the development of the ovarian follicle and increase in endometrial thickness. When the ovum reaches sufficient size you can take beta hCG injection with your doctor s advice to trigger the ovulation and plan for pregnancy accordingly. Take care.
