Is It Safe For My Mother To Go For Dual Chamber ICD Implantation?
My mother is 63. From past few days she feel headache once or twice daily and lost her conscious for a movement but recover after 5 to 10 minutes. After Holter meter reports doctor advice us to go for DUEL CHAMBER ICD implantation. Last year in her angiography report CAG hart function was 30%. Shell I go as per doctor advice because another other doctor told us may be this is cause of cervical. Is it possible.
Dear Sir/ Madam Thanks for your query. Prophylactic ICD is indicated in number of circumstances with EF of 30%. It is also indicated if there are certain holter abnormalities. Important determinants are cause of low EF and findings on holter monitoring. These are not mentioned in your query. However, still with the information provided, there may be a strong case for ICD implantation. Please discuss with your electrophysiologist. Cervical spine issue may be present concomitantly and are associated with loss of consciousness uncommonly. Sincerely Sukhvinder
