my age is 58 yrs, my fasting blood glucose is 127mg/dl and my post-prandial glucose is189mg/dl . I don't take any medicine rather i try to maintain it with walking, exercises and controlling diet. Do i still need medicine or if i don't take medicine then it may harm my health and other body organs as well ?

Hello,
if both values have been measured in a lab while you were in an otherwise healthy state (not sick with high fever for example or while taking cortisone) and you've found repeatedly high fasting blood sugars with self-measurement then you've got diabetes mellitus. Discussing about treatment requires more information like the level of HbA1c (glucosylated hemoglobin), your kidney functionality and a knowledge about other medical issues you might have.
Diabetes diagnosis threshold is set to 126 because medical research has proof that fasting levels higher than 125 are related to diabetes complications, should they remain untreated.
Walking, exercise and a healthy diet are absolutely essential to diabetes management. Diabetes also requires drug therapy. The extent of the medical intervention with drugs is guided by the information I mentioned above.
So the answer is yes, you should take what your doctor prescribed to you.
Kind Regards!
