General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The dose of Fenofibrate may vary between 40-160 mg depending on the level of LDL and total cholesterol besides the level of triglycerides. The accompanying conditions like kidney or liver functions may result in the decreased doses. However, in elderly as in your case a starting dose of 54 mg or so is recommended which may be increased depending on the response and tolerability of the patient to a maximum of 160 mg per day.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
