Is It Safe To Change To Levothyroxine From Synthroid?

My endocrinologist advised me never to accept a generic thyroid medication after my thyroid had been removed. He has retired and my GP filled my latest prescription with Levothyroxine 200 mcg, rather than Synthroid 200 mcg. I understand that generics do not contain a consistent drug content. Without a thyroid I am reluctant to accept the prescription. Am I correct?

Hi Dear

Good day.
yes usually we advice patients to stick on to a single brand of levothyroxine. However if you have been prescribed a generic vetsion, please use it till your preferred brand is available.
. It doesn't really matter to great extent as long as it is properly packed and protected from heat and moisture .
But you may feel sick if you avoid taking the drug totally.
