Is It Safe To Consume Alcohol While Having Lamictal For Epilepsy?

Hello I have a quick question. I am 20 years old and fixing to be 21 on Monday. I had "1" margarita with my friend tonight at work. I currently suffer from epilepsy and take lamictal and vimpat. I will be seizure free February. Will that 1 drink affect me in any way, shape, or form?

The efficacy of your drugs like Lamictal and Vimpat will be reduced by alcohol consumption. Since alcohol enhances the metabolism of these drugs and eventually their elimination from the body thereby reducing their efficacy.
So, you should refrain from taking alcohol or alcohol containing medications.
