Is It Safe To Continue Exercise After Angioplasty?

hello doctor. i have my angioplasty last august 18, 2010. here in philippines with dr alexander ang. he put me six stent. 3 stent in RCA, 2 stent in LAD and one stent in LCX. after 3 weeks i do treadmill and after 1 1/2 month i have a speed od 4 miles/hour. i don't feel chest pain. is it ok to continue exercise? is there any side effect thank you

From your question you are uncertain whether exercise aftr cardiac stents would be recommended. In my practice I have several patients with cardiac stents and I recommend all my patients to participate in some exercise program. Exercise helps build better lungs, better heart health, better vasculature and overall better health.

I would recommend doing only moderate exercise and if you do develop chest pain to stop.
