Is It Safe To Continue Taking Botox For Blepharospasm?

I am a 58 year old male and have suffered with blepherospasm for about 5 years. About a year ago I started getting botox injections. The first was 60 units with a 18 unit booster about a month later. within 3 to 4 months I received 60 more units. There is some relief but not near as much as I hoped for. My symptoms are worse in the morning. Bright light and wind also affect me. Do you have any other recommendations for other treatment. My injections are administered by an opthamologist. No testing was done. I simply told her my syptoms seemed to match the reserch I had done on-line. Thank-you , Bob B

I really appreciate your concern, it is the rare form of disease of two types one is essential and second is reflex type most of the time it comes around on its own but some time may needs medicines and surgery, you have already tried the medicine now you can think about surgery it is advisable to discuss with eye surgeon, hope this information helps.
