Is It Safe To Continue With Linctus Syrup For Persistent Cough?

Hi, My son was having throat infection with very high fever. I consulted with my doctor and he has given antibiotic Clamp kid and HH linctus syrup for cough. Fever is reduced but now he is having continuous cough. He sometimes has wheezing problem also , but this time he does nt have that. Please suggest if i should continue with HH linctus syrup or not.

Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns. I would not recommend continued use of cough syrup. If your son is still coughing there maybe due to asthma and he should be checked. I recommend he be seen again by his doctor and screened for asthma
