Is It Safe To Deliver At 36 Weeks?

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and had my check up this morning, the doctor said that i'm 1 cm dilated d,oes it mean i'll be in labor soon? But the doctor said 1 more week will be better. I'm in pain now and can't sleep, is it safe to deliver at 36 uweeks, what should i do to keep it until next week? Thanks

You are having only a mild dilatation. The labor is not likely to progress for another week or 10 days if the contractions that you are having are not very intense.
