Is It Safe To Give Cerelac For Breakfast To An Infant?
Good day, my baby is 5 months and half, I want to give him ceralac but my husband doesnt want him to give ceralac, because is not good for baby, only homemade food such as boild potato. And also because the cerelac storge to much in a packet. And only because of the advertising and only those stupid people buy and give cerelac for there bab? But I want to give cerelac for my baby 1 in a day during breakfast.

Young parents are usually too protective about their children and want what is best for thier children. This is the time that children are given other foods besides milk as milk is no longer sufficient to meet all the requirements of a growing baby. You can give cerelac to a healthy baby if the baby it contains all the nutrients and is considered a balance diet for babies. Giving fresh fruits and vegetables is also a good option. You should gradually start different items one by one. If you lets say start cerelac or potato then do not start another item for about a week and look for any diarrhea with the food. It the child is tolerating the food well, then you can start a second food item. These should be given along side the milk that the child is taking.
I would recommend that you schedule an appointment with pediatrition for a well baby visit and besides discussing different diatery plans, make shure to get your child vaccinated if the child is late on any vaccines.
