Hello,My daughter has problem while passing urine and motion (hard). She passes motion once in 3 to 5 days, and finds it very difficult and her eye waters each time when she does this (both motion and urine). So it is fine to give her Livoluk (Lactulose Solution USP) and Citralka Liquid? Please advise

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, she is suffering from urinary tract infection and severe constipation. Yes lactulose and citralka can be both given together.

But you need to get her urine routine examination and culture done to look for infection and give her appropriate treatment. Plus give her high fibre diet for the constipation.

Above all she needs a lot of water as water deficiency can cause both constipation and UTI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
